QLT Get the pattern

Privacy & cookies

What this site does with information about you.

A plain account of what actually runs on QLT, written by the people who built it. It is not a substitute for legal advice, and if you plan to rely on it for a legal filing you should have it reviewed first. Last updated 2026-09-11.

Who runs this site

QLT is Allison Baumken's quilt pattern shop. Lineage itself is sold on Etsy, not through this site — buying it means your order, payment and shipping details (there is nothing to ship; it is a PDF) are handled entirely by Etsy, under Etsy's own privacy policy, not this one. This site never sees your payment information.

What this site collects automatically

This site uses Google Analytics to see which pages get read and whether the Colour Lab tool gets used, the ordinary way most websites measure traffic. That means a small file (a cookie, in the _ga family) is set in your browser, and Google Analytics receives: the page you are on, roughly where you are in the world (not a precise location), what device and browser you are using, and whether you came from a link like a Pinterest pin or a search result.

Inside the Colour Lab tool specifically, the same system also records when it loads, when you change a fabric, pick a starting palette, swap two colours, reset to the designer's colours, save a colourway, copy its colours, or click through to buy the pattern — never which colours you picked, just that the action happened. This is how we know whether the tool is worth building further, not who used it.

Google's own policies govern how long this data is kept and what Google itself does with it; see Google's Privacy Policy. We do not receive your name, email address or anything that identifies you personally through Google Analytics, and we have not connected it to any advertising account.

Cookie consent

Google Analytics' cookies are not strictly necessary for the site to work — they exist to measure use, not to run the page — so nothing is set until you say yes. The banner every page shows on a first visit asks before anything loads: choosing "Accept" is what starts Google Analytics; choosing "Decline", or simply not choosing, keeps it off. Your answer is remembered in your browser so you are not asked again, and you can change it any time — see "Your choices" below.

Pinterest

This site carries a Pinterest domain-verification tag, which proves to Pinterest that we own this domain. It does not track anything, set a cookie, or send Pinterest any information about visitors — it only unlocks analytics on Pinterest's own side for pins that link here. If we ever add Pinterest's actual tracking tag, this section will say so.

What we do not do

No advertising pixel (Meta, TikTok or otherwise) runs on this site. We do not sell, rent or share any information about visitors with anyone, for any reason. There is no account system and nothing to log in to, so there is no password or personal profile of yours for us to hold.

Mailing list

QLT does not currently operate a mailing list. Any sign-up form you see on this site that looks otherwise is switched off and does not collect anything.

Your choices

You can also block or delete Google's analytics cookies at any time in your browser's settings, or install Google's own opt-out browser add-on. Doing either stops this site from being able to measure your visit at all; nothing else about the site changes. This site does not currently read or respond to a browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

Children

This site is a quilt pattern shop meant for adults and is not directed at children.

Changes to this page

If what this site collects or connects to changes, this page changes with it — it is generated from the same facts the rest of the site runs on, not written once and forgotten.
